SAFEGUARD YOUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT’S INTERESTS!

DLLG is a full-time advocate for legislative and policy issues affecting Delaware’s local governments. The League’s primary function is to work with the Delaware General Assembly on behalf of municipal and county governments.  DLLG keeps you informed about what’s happening in Dover and represents you when you can’t be there. Using our collective voice, we can ensure that Delaware legislators partner with local governments and make local issues a priority in State policy. The League also provides resources to influence state policies that impose mandates, restrict your authority, or reduce state funding.

OBTAIN RESOURCES! SHARPEN YOUR LEADERSHIP SKILLS!

DLLG members receive a wealth of information about issues that matter. Through our partners at the University of Delaware, the League helps local leaders recognize, understand, and meet the emerging trends and challenges their communities face. also provides Delaware’s local leaders with valuable information, training, and leadership development programs. The University of Delaware’s Institute for Public Administration (IPA) provides comprehensive and up-to-date training, technical assistance, policy analysis, and online tools/resources. The Delaware T2 Center offers local government training and a free engineering Circuit Rider Program to assist with a host of technical, regulatory, procedural, and policy areas of local transportation challenges.

NETWORK AND SHARE GREAT IDEAS!

DLLG provides opportunities to connect with other local elected leaders from across the state who share common experiences. DLLG meetings and events provide a forum for local officials to share vital information and engage in discussions on a variety of topics that are important to local government officials.
